The position

On behalf of our client, an international leading FMCG company expanding their business in Western Europe, Nigel Wright Group is searching for a Senior Commercial Finance Manager Western Europe (f/m) based in Frankfurt. 

The role of the Western Europe Finance Manager is to lead the Western Europe Financial Planning & Analysis Team (FP&A) working as a true business partner for the Western Europe Senior Leadership Team, ensuring adequate control and forecast accuracy. Furthermore, the job holder takes the responsibility to be the effective business partner to Austria and all other Western European markets commercial teams.
 

 

Your responsibility

  • Business Partner to Austria & Western European third party markets
  • Act as the key person for annual budgets, forecasts, processes and strategic plan
  • Partner the commercial team to identify and manage the risks and opportunities of the business and provide choices to secure annual target delivery
  • Track investment performance with ROI analysis to support business decision
  • Support the commercial team in their annual negotiations providing financial insight and analysis, securing alignment to strategy
  • Lead processes to implement effective ways of working with distributors (joint plan agreement, A&P related processes, pricing strategy execution)
  • Consolidate the Western European financials for both top-down and bottom-up processes (Including Germany)
  • Be the knowledgeable one point of contact for the EMEA Business Unit FP&A team
  • Lead BU Planning, Forecasting and Reporting Calendar ensuring all deliverables from countries are made on time, accurate and in the most simple and efficient way (including templates and consolidation files)
  • Coordinate allocation process within Western Europe to optimize revenue realization and profitability and interact with the EMEA BU allocation lead
  • Be a key player in building a strong and efficient finance team, coaching and improving the employee’s performance and creating a rewarding and motivating working environment
  • Drive continuous improvement, challenging the Western European operating expenses
  • Team responsibility of six direct reports

 

 

Your profile

  • Experience of more than 10 years in a relevant field of responsibility in Finance and Controlling including experience in business decision support and consolidation of P&L, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Master Degree in Business or Economics
  • Sound knowledge of Controlling and Accounting tools and processes
  • FMCG industry insight and experience in an international company is mandatory
  • Strong analytical computer skills and ability to extract, manipulate and analyze internal/external data
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to develop strong relationship in a culturally diverse environment with a positive networking approach
  • Able to challenge the senior management team in a constructive and business oriented way
  • Innovative and solution-oriented thinking, creating and implementing effective financial processes that are aligned with business goals and support rigorous and quick decision
  • Strong leadership skills and experience, empathic and cooperative role model
  • High level of Excel skills is required, SAP knowledge preferred
  • Fluent English is mandatory, advanced German skills preferred
